In my opinion, some of the different facets of human resources that need attention in formulating a National Information Policy include:


  1. Education and training: Ensuring that the workforce has the necessary education and training to effectively use and manage information and knowledge resources. This includes providing training in information literacy, digital literacy, and other information-related skills.
  2. Recruitment and retention: Attracting and retaining highly skilled and qualified professionals in the fields of information and knowledge management.
  3. Professional development: Providing opportunities for professional development and continuing education for professionals working in the field of information and knowledge management.
  4. Workforce diversity: Encouraging diversity in the workforce, including diversity in terms of gender, race, ethnicity, and other factors, to ensure that the workforce reflects the diversity of the population it serves.
  5. Ethics and professionalism: Promoting ethical and professional standards for information and knowledge management professionals.


In terms of the role of a knowledge professional in knowledge management, it includes:


  1. Identifying and acquiring relevant knowledge resources: Knowledge professionals are responsible for identifying and acquiring knowledge resources that are relevant to the organization or individual.
  2. Organizing and managing knowledge resources: Knowledge professionals are responsible for organizing and managing knowledge resources in a way that makes them easily accessible and retrievable.
  3. Providing access to knowledge resources: Knowledge professionals are responsible for providing access to knowledge resources to the organization or individual in a timely and efficient manner.
  4. Advising and consulting: Knowledge professionals offer advice and consultation services to organizations and individuals on how best to use knowledge resources to achieve their goals.
  5. Research and analysis: Knowledge professionals also carry out research and analysis of knowledge resources to support decision-making and problem-solving.
  6. Facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration: Knowledge professionals facilitate the sharing and collaboration of knowledge across an organization, to make sure everyone has access to the information they need to do their work well.
  7. Continuously improving the knowledge management system: Knowledge professionals continuously monitor and evaluate the knowledge management system and make improvements as needed, to make sure it continues to meet the organization's needs.
